FAQ

What does CHECK IGN CONTROL mean on a Jandy JXi?

An ignition fault. Jandy's manual (p. 7) says the fault shows when a total of 3 ignition attempts fail. Listed causes include air pressure switch tubing problems, fan problems, restricted air flow, a broken igniter, low gas supply and no flame at the burner (p. 47).

How do I reset a Jandy JXi after an ignition fault?

Per Section 8.2.2 (p. 39): turn OFF the control, turn it back ON, and select Pool or Spa mode. That gives the heater three new attempts. It also retries on its own after one hour. If the fault keeps returning, call a qualified technician.

What is the flashing LED inside the heater?

Jandy's ignition control has an LED that flashes service codes; a triple flash means ignition lockout after three unsuccessful attempts (Section 10.3, p. 48). It is inside the heater, so leave reading it to a technician.
