About these codes

LG washers show error codes on the display when the automatic error-monitoring system detects a problem. LG's manuals say to check the listed causes before you call for service.

IE is an inlet (fill) error, UE is an unbalance error, OE is a water outlet (drain) error, and LE is a motor locked error on front-loads (LE1, a foreign object, on top-loads). Each page below follows LG's Error Messages chart and maintenance steps for these models.

Safety: Electrical appliance. LG: "Disconnect this appliance from the power supply before cleaning and attempting any user maintenance. Turning the controls to the OFF position does not disconnect this appliance from the power supply." (Owner's manual p.5)

If the listed checks do not clear a code, LG says repairs and servicing must be performed by qualified service personnel.
